lost in Hong Kong–Michael Kistler Photography

This is the third image in the TST series. I shot this on ground level as I was waiting for the elevator to go up to 16. I dismissed it initially but think now it’s probably the strongest image narrative-wise in the series. I think the lack of identity and the feeling of being adrift in an urban sea of some 7 million people is very interesting. I’ve always been fascinated by the anonymity offered by big cities like Tokyo and Hong Kong. It must be an extremely lonely experience for so many. Shot this on the iPhone with minor edits and B&W conversion in Snapseed.
